Judith Sutz is the Academic Coordinator of the University Research Council of the University of the Republic, Uruguay, and Professor of Science, Technology and Society in the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her research work is related with the specific conditions for innovation in developing countries and with problems associated with the production and social use of knowledge in such countries. She was the Secretary of Science, Technology and Development of the Latin American Commission of Social Sciences and a member of the Task Force on Science, Technology and Innovation of the UN Millennium Development Project. She is Advisory Editor of Research Policy and fellow of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences.
